Listing Details: 1970 '70 HEMI Road Runner, Orange, Air Grabber, 1 of only 16 made!

SOLD! SOLD!
Description:

Mother Mopar made only 16 Hemi Hardtop Road Runners with an automatic transmission in 1970.  Only 75 were produced in all.  Beautifully restored, numbers matching original drive train, documented by partial broadcast sheet, and original fender tag. This 'runner is loaded to the gills, with over 14 factory options, including the N96 Air Grabber hood, High Impact EV2 Hemi Orange paint, Power Steering, Power Disc Brakes, Console and bucket seats. She is showroom new and road ready!

Exterior: This rust free Road Runner underwent a complete restoration in 2005, bringing the car back to showroom new condition. The EV2 Hemi Orange paint is stunning, much better that factory original. The body is straight with all original panels. All the glass is original with the exception of the front windshield which appears to have been replaced. It does have the MOPAR SafeGuard logo. All the chrome to include the bumpers and stainless is show quality and highly polished. The trunk is nicely detailed with the correct spare tire and jack assembly. All the lenses are polished. New vinyl top with correct grain was replaced on the car. The car rides on new period correct F7015 Polyglas Goodyear GT Tires and factory correct rallye wheels giving the car distinct 70’s look. If you prefer RADIALS you can swap the bias-ply setup for a mounted set of Brand New BF Goodrich Radial TA’s, 23560R15 for the front and 25560R15 for the rear. Your choice of tires and wheels.

Interior: The interior is restored to brand new condition. The gauges faces, needles, and bright trim work are crisp, lenses are clear and clean. Although the car originally came with an R11 AM Radio, the radio has been upgraded to a factory AM/FM radio that works with front and rear fade. She is well outfitted with factory console bucket seat car with rally dash. There are no discernible flaws, blemishes, or mechanical issues with the interior.

Mechanical: This 1970 Plymouth Road Runner is road worthy and a BLAST to drive, but at the end of the day, this is a SHOW CAR, much to valuable to drive on a regular basis. Under the original equipment N96 Air-grabber hood is the original NUMBERS MATCHING 426 hemi with the original dual quads just as it left the factory. Most of the external components to include the intake manifolds, exhaust manifolds, distributor are original. It has the original (956) Radiator in place and the underhood detail is immaculate to say the least. The D32 automatic transmission is original NUMBERS MATCHING as well. The car runs out great with no issues, no overheating and is a pleasure to drive.

Engine Bay/Chassis: Although most prefer an undercarriage overestored to include body color painted floor pans, this car is nicely restored and retains her original underbody finish from the dealership. This is NOT the excessive undercoating generally used by body shops to hide a lot of ugly. According to the gentleman who restored the car, the undercoating is original to the car, and since it was so nice he didn't want to disturb it. I agree. You can still see all the original panel lines and seams. The car is solid with no rust history, and certainly no current rust issues. Floor pans , Framerails, Rocker Panels, all RUST FREE. All suspension and other components were removed from the car, and restored or replaced. The 3.55 A36 axle package 8 ¾ rear end is original to the car and was restored to new with new bearings and components. She also retains her factory original leaf springs. She even sports a factory correct exhaust with hemi mufflers and resonators!
