A. For sellers we can take solitary vehicles or entire collections on consignment. We conduct a price point analysis, perform pre-sale inspection and photography, create and execute a marketing plan for each vehicle. We also design and conduct eBay Motors auctions. We handle ALL inquiries as well as moderate transaction settlement and clearing. We are not appraisers or dealers.

A. We have a comprehensive process that's designed to protect you:
1) DUE DILIGENCE Before you even see a car posted on our site, we have researched the cars history, condition, and originality and base our description on empirical traits. In short, we carefully ascertain from the seller what 'as is' is, as if we were buying the car ourselves.
2) CONTACT You contact us about a particular in our online showroom and we share with you all the details about that car to your satisfaction. If we don't know, we'll find out.
3) NEGOTIATE/DEPOSIT Once you are satisfied with how the car is represented, we agree on a price. The seller accepts the offer, you send a FULLY REFUNDABLE deposit. We send you a Receipt of Deposit that acts as a purchasing contract.
4) INSPECTION/VERIFICATION We arrange for an independent, 3rd party inspector to ascertain the condition of the vehicle. This way, you know 'is as' is what we say 'as is' is. If the car is not as the seller represented, we refund your deposit, or find you another car, at your discretion.
5) SETTLEMENT/COMPLETION We complete the transaction the same way a private sale would normally consummate. You typically send the balance of the funds via wire transfer or bank check directly to the seller. We facilitate the completion of the transaction, push the paperwork, and help with any additional services like transport.
6) SATISFACTION/FEEDBACK Once you take delivery of the car, we follow up with you. We make sure you are happy with the car, resolve any outstanding issues and ask you to rate our performance.

A. Currently, the listing fee for the 'Seller's Agent' and 'Auctioneer' service is $75, with a 5% commission due when and only if we sell your car. Additional services are available at additional costs.

A. Nope. To make it easy on the buyer, all of the advertised asking prices include our commission. This isn't a live auction where you have to do a bunch of math before making a bid.

A. Two ways, first cost avoidance, and also higher net sales price. When you consign with Show Your Auto, you eliminate the additional expenses demanded by other venues: upfront transport costs, advertising costs, storage fees, not to mention the commission charged to both you AND the buyer. All of that effects your bottom line. At Show Your Auto, you control the final sale price and know upfront you'll get your ideal net, perhaps more.

A. In short, we charge less. Most dealers and automotive auctions charge the seller AND the buyer commission fees, adding between 10 and 20% to the sale price of the car. We earn a modest 5% commission that is figured in upfront. You are also avoiding the marketing, overhead, and transport costs passed on to you by the seller and dealer.

A. Our impressive headquarters are located in beautiful, nostalgic, tree-lined Antioch, IL. But call before make the trip to see us, we sell all the cars on the Internet
You aren't paying for carpeted garage floors and fancy lighting.
We don't charge you storage on a car we're trying to sell for you, then charge the public to put fingerprints and scratches all over your car while it's in our 'care'.
When we do open an automobile museum, we'll personally own everything in it. It won't be for sale and the price of admission will be donated to charity.

A. Nope. We can direct you to a number of reputable lenders, but we advise you to secure funding before shopping for a classic. Most dealers who do offer in-house or refer you to a finance company make 1 to 3 points in commission for every loan they secure. (Ask your lender if they'd do the same for you.)

A. We design a web and print publication program for each car we consign to make certain we reach the right buying audience. In addition to our network of 23 specialty showrooms, our newsletter and network of enthusiasts clubs, you may see your car advertised in national classifieds like Hemmings, the Dupont Registry, Deals on Wheels etc. We also place ads in targeted specialty publications like Mopar Collector's Guide, or Grassroots Motorsports. It's not just about broad exposure, but the right exposure.

A. YES your deposit is FULLY REFUNDABLE, held in escrow contingent upon your approval of an inspection of the car. If the inspection discovers that the car was materially misrepresented, we refund your deposit, or find you another car, at your discretion.

A. We can locate and send a specialized inspector out to evaluate the condition of the car. If the car is a Shelby, we send a Shelby specialist, if its a Mopar, we send a Mopar specialist, etc.). That way, you'll find out even the most minute details, both cosmetic and mechanical, about the car you're going to buy. You can talk to the inspector, fly out and see the car, send your own inspector, or all of the above. You are responsible for the cost of the inspection.

A. Yep. Most cars you can find at CARMAX or your local used car store are most likely not represented here. We work with a wide variety of marques and even 'contemporary classics'. Demand and rarity, not age, are the factors contribute to a collector car's value. Condition is also a factor in deciding which cars we take on. Typically, we will not consign a car that is anything less than a number 3 lawn show, weekend driver.

A. We do not buy cars or carry inventory, but we have successfully found private parties and other outlets to quickly dispose of a "trade-in" and broker trades on a routine basis.
