'66 Shelby GT350, Supercharged, SVRA B Production Group Six Certified
6S2364 is a 1966 Shelby GT350 finished in Sapphire Blue, Black interior and a 4speed Top Loader Transmission. After experimenting with a Supercharged model of the GT350 in '66, Shelby decided to offer the Paxton supplied Cobra Supercharger as a dealer installed option. The $670 option came complete with a 90 day, 4,000 mile warranty and resulted in a 46% horsepower increase. This GT350 is equipped a date code correct Cobra Super Charger, complete with enclosure, special fuel pump, proper carburetor jets, as well as the Blower and Fuel Pressure gauges. The previous owner, Dick Verzillo, discovered the car in 1993 still in the possession of the original owner and off the road since 1973. The SAAC registry has verified that the Ford and Shelby VIN do correspond with one another on this car and it is included in the latest SAAC registry. Documentation of the car includes the original sales invoice, sold new from Reynolds Motors for $6,849.20 to Richard Burgess of Morovia on September 16th, 1966. Richard put 59,000 miles on the car before parking it in 1973. The odometer now reads 71,189 miles. The original shipping invoice from Shelby American shows SFM 6S2364 equipped with the standard GT350 package, as well as factory installed folding rear seat, and Borg Warner Close Ratio 4 Speed Transmission with Holley 715 CFM center pivot float carburetor. This car was born a Rallye Stripe delete car. The original motor was balanced, blue printed and properly dailed-in on the dyno. Normally aspirated, she recording 347 horsepower and 267 pound-feet of torque at 5100 RPM. This is a respectable number for an essentially stock 289 small block. Remember that mill is fitted with a Paxton COBRA Supercharger, good for 500+ horsepower. The car currently stands as an authentically prepared Group Six B-Production race car within the SVRA. She appears in R Model trim, R Model front apron and the R model rear vented window, side exit exaust and American Racingï»¿ 5 spoke wheels.
